21.11.2016
Optoelectronic level sensor OLS-F1

The optoelectronic level sensor OLS-F1 was specially developed for sterile process engineering and is suitable for use in pharmaceutical and food manufacturing applications. Autoclavable applications can be carried out up to a temperature of 134 °C.

Applications

  • Food and beverage production

  • Pharmaceutical industry, biotechnology, drug manufacturing

  • Aseptic applications

Features

  • Autoclavable

  • No moving parts

  • Compact design

  • Any installation position

  • Accuracy ± 0.5 mm

The detection of the fill level with the cone tip is largely independent of the physical properties of the liquids such as density, dielectric constant, conductivity, color and refractive index.
The very compact design guarantees minimal space requirements and measurements in very small volumes.

Description
The optoelectronic level switch type OLS-F1 is used to monitor the level of liquids in sterile process engineering. The optoelectronic sensor contains an infrared LED and a light receiver.

The light from the LED is directed into a prism that forms the tip of the sensor. As long as the tip is not immersed in liquid, the light is reflected within the prism to the receiver.

If the liquid rises in the container and encloses the tip, the light is refracted by the liquid and no longer or only weakly reaches the receiver, which reacts to this change and initiates a switching process.

The optoelectronic sensor OLS-F1 was specially developed for sterile process engineering and is suitable for use in pharmaceutical and food manufacturing applications. Autoclavable applications can be carried out up to a temperature of 134 ° C.
